本研究主要目的乃探討目前農漁村青年心態的現代性特質和分析農漁村青年現代性心態與個人特徵和社會行為的關係。主要應用問卷訪問調查方法收集資料，共計調查655個農漁村青年。結果發現農漁村青年皆已具有明顯的現代性心態，且農村青年比漁村青年顯示較高的現代性心態。資料顯示成就動機、平穩性格、農(漁)業信心三項特質較為合適應用來說明或判別農漁村青年現代性心態的反應傾向。同時，農漁村青年這三項特質與教育程度、農業訓練、接受傳播程度及部份社會行為變項有顯著的正關係。
英文摘要:
This research is to investigate the modern characteristics of rural youth (farm and fishery youth) and its relationship with other individual variables and social behavior. The data has been collected from 655 sample youth with questionnaire survey method. The remarkable statements of data analysis explore that implicitly most of the rural youth have changed their psychological characteristics from traditional states to modernity, and in comparison, the farm youth seem to show higher modernity than that of the fishery youth.
The output data of factor analysis further indicate achievement motivation, authoritarian personality and the belief to agricultural or fishery industry are three major and valuable concepts for measuring and exhibiting the modern characteristics. These three new conceptual factors are also significantly correlated with education, level of farm or fishery training, frequency of efficient communication and partly variables of social behavior such as human relation in positive dimension.
