本研究欲以社會的觀點(societal perspective)，估算嚴重精神病患之經濟成本，以供制定精神衛生政策的參考。主要研究方法係以郵局問卷的方式收集三個康復之友協會精神病患經濟成本的相關資料；無法由問卷取得的資料則經由次級資料的收集而提供。
英文摘要:
In the present study, the economic cost of severely mentally ill patients was explored from a societal perspective. To serve this purpose,all members of three Associations of the Kun-Fu Friends were conacted via mailed questionnaires regarding economically related data.
