本研究主要的目的，在探討女性婚後是否經驗到不同家庭系統之間的拉扯，以及如何回應不同角色的需求。焦點團體法是主要的資料收集方式，研究者以工作狀況(家庭主婦/職業婦女)及居住型態(與公婆合住/分住)兩個變相為主，選取適合的對象接受訪談。

Intergenerational relationship between married women and their parents and parents-in-law are explored. Loyalty conflicts among married women and their responses to these are viewed within different family systems.
